TAXI of LIGHT is an engaging collection of poetry which takes its readers on a fascinating and exciting journey through mythology, the animal kingdom and finally into the world of men. The poems are oblique and elliptical and much pleasure can be gained from their shifting, sinuous metres and irregular rhymes. The poems reflect and echo each other and their symbolic nature builds up a world which resembles the real world, but which at times can seem quite at odds to it.
GRASS WIDOW and the PLAGUE STONE is a fantasy tale of the Panther and the Wyvern, major trump cards on the card marked "Art". The author and his Lioness metamorphosize into a pair of statues and finally into figures on a chess board. Most of their lives are covered by this stage and a vast empire is created and run from two houses. As a keen photographer, Jonathan has spent his spare time during the last ten years trying to develop an entire Tarot deck. Some of the cards have been quite elusive but by the end of this book he has at least developed vast sections of the deck. A small army persists in their attempt to get him to communion but he resists, the Dark Knight in holding out!
SEASONS of a SOUL SURVIVOR is a record of the author's own pastoral paradise, "Culworth" , which focuses on 12 months in this small Northamptonshire village. Amongst the topics Jonathan studies are seasonal changes, love, loss and the rural activities which surround him. There are plenty of horses!!
A WARLOCK'S TAROT "Jonty the Mad Poet" has now written his definitive guide to the Tarot Deck - see the Trumps descriptions under the section marked "A Warlock's Tarot". I have now completed the entire deck and my explanations of all the cards. To obtain the completed guide e-mail Jonathan Wain
ARIEL Jonathan's fourth book of poetry that uses Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” as a theme. Prospero was sent into exile with twenty-four books that enabled him to conquer his island home. There is more travelling on the tree as I enlarge on themes from my first three books, with images taken from a Book of the Earth or a Book of Colour or a Book of Motion.
A GRANDE GRIMMOIRE! Here I present in words and pictures all but the last three cards yet to go into my Tarot deck, and more besides! The Grimoire is divided into “The Side of the Witch King” and “The Side of the Warrior Queen”.
A PUNNET OF STRAWBERRIES! A work in progress...
